Surgical Procedures
Some conditions may be treated with medication and/or lifestyle changes, while others may require surgery.
Ideally, your nasal septum would be perfectly straight and precisely in the middle of your nose, making each side of the nasal cavity the same size. Yet more than 80 percent of the
population have some degree of deviation or crookedness. This can be caused by injury to the nose or individual variations in anatomy.
Sometimes the deviation is severe enough to cause nasal obstruction and affect your breathing. A deviated septum can be straightened with an operation called a
septoplasty.
